Well, I have had this site, thanks to my adoring husband, for about six months and have yet to “post” anything. I have of computers! I have been a doula in the Portland area for seven years. I attend births at Maine Medical, Mercy, Southern Maine Med, St. Mary’s, The Ballard House, and also at Home. I am drawn to the opportunity that birth gives a woman and her family to feel empowered and connected to her potential as a mother. Every birth, every labor, every baby that comes into this world is a miracle and to be a part of that is an indescribable privilege. I am so grateful to have found a job that I not only love, but learn something new with each family that I work with. Each Doctor and midwife and nurse that I am able to watch help a woman in labor and bring a new bay to the world brings his or her own unique touch to the experience, it is a pleasure to learn from all of these professionals. I have to now go put my own “little miracles” to bed (that will be a major miracle!!). Good night and I promise it will not be another six months before I write more on my website! PEACE
